Autism Coloring Book was written by children's writer Richard Carlson Jr. who has paranoid schizophrenia and obsessive-compulsive disorder. The illustrator, Kevin Carlson, has autism. Steven Carlson, also the author's brother, translated the book into Chinese.
Autism Coloring Book is a story about autistic man, Kevin Carlson, who loves to draw. The book has wonderful illustrations selected by the author, Richard Carlson Jr. for inclusion. The illustrator of course was Kevin, who shows his artistic ability very well. Talented in drawing, Kevin takes great pride in his work. At times with his drawing, but not necessarily with the illustrations for Autism Coloring Book, Kevin has difficulty and says he can't draw as he is frustrated. With encouragement, Kevin finishes the drawing, revealing true talent and perseverance. Kevin is a good person-he loves to draw, especially drawings of animals and people, including children.
